Two Norfolk young farmers will be in London on Saturday (14 November) to help demonstrate the high-tech side of agriculture during the Lord Mayor’s Parade. A Stalham member, Emily Page and Jack Papworth, both members of North Walsham Young Farmers' Club, are joining the NFU, the Worshipful Company of Farmers and agricultural equipment manufacturer John Deere to highlight the role that science and technology plays.
The star of the show will be John Deere’s brand new 4-track 9RX tractor. Alongside will be an immaculately restored John Deere model 4020 tractor, manufactured and registered in 1966, towing a trailer with graphics depicting a vibrant and futuristic industry that embraces different technology such as robotic milking, GPS, solar energy and electronic identification of livestock. More than 500,000 people will be lining the route of the three-mile procession through the City of London and it will also be shown live on television.
North Walsham Young Farmers had a very good "New Members" evening on Tuesday 22nd September with 45 members and potential members attending at Rossi's leisure center. [24/09/15]
